Sorry, no, it is Acrotriche divaricata.
Monotoca is unlikely this far inland in this area.

Definitely not Monotoca.

This one, mostly only as understorey of damp forest, kept us guessing for a long time. Hard to find it in flower or fruit. Pretty safe with his ID I reckon. An attractive low plant often with pink tips. My guess is hard to propagate...as are most of the Epacridaceae.

Not convinced it being Acrotriche leucocarpa. A. divaricata is most likely.

Check the undersides of the leaves. In A. leucocarpa they are white. In A. divaricata they are green. That is in the key in the original description of leucocarpa.

My money would be on divaricata. My photos of leucocarpa from up on the top of the coastal escarpment (its usual hangout) show a more erect habit and yellowish green foliage (apart from the white leaf underside).

I doubt this is correctly identified. It looks like a very accessible location, so can someone go back and get a shot of the leaf underside, so we can see if it is green or white?

Whew, glad we got that one sorted. It seemed to generate an awful lot of "first sighting of" emails, with one more to come I suppose.
