I was taken in by this Pam - until I noticed the writing on the top! Bush fire transformation.

A couple of these found in quite dense bush, nowhere near a gold course. Suspect local ravens had taken to stealing them, then given up on trying to eat them!

A lot of us have been excited with unusual fungal finds only to be disappointed with them being golfballs. I was taken in by your first image - good thing you put the second one up!! Yes the ravens are notorious for translocating golfballs. I've seen them take them from our neighbours place and bury them in our paddocks. I use to think she had incredible range with her hits! There was the case where a stump was being removed and when it was broken open golfballs cascaded out everywhere.
