Just looking at the gills there appears to be a couple of fine lines across them forming a series of tiny brown dots at the edges of the gills the line crosses. This makes me wonder if it is possibly a Lactarius/Lactifluus sp. as these dots may be exudate coming from slight injuries to the gills. Is there any chance you'd be able to go back and check if this is the case please? If so it's a most unusual species.

Have added some more photos. Does not seem to be damage to the gills

Hi Pam, could this be Leucopaxillus lilacinus, p 116 Fuhrer, as it has a pale lilac hue, gills turned cream and the large base.
Cheers Chris

Many thanks Chris for taking those additional images. You're right, image one and two definitely have that Leucopaxillus lilacinus look about them so I'll go with that. Can't be sure about image 4. So maybe that needs to be separated from your original specimens as I can't give you a definite id on it.
