Author's notes

Like my record from just north of Eden, this thing keys fairly readily to Poranthera corymbosa, and I notice Betty, that it is the entity you have illustrating corymbosa in your books. I'd never seen it before. There was a cluster of plants on the verge of Western Distributor Rd near Carters Creek bridge, looking very like a post-disturbance coloniser, adjacent to quite dense wet sclerophyll forest, quite unlike the dry forest on sand (but again, post-disturbance) of the Eden entity. I've pressed specimens for the RBG of both. They look like different species to me.

So, I'd be curious to know where the photo of this in your books comes from Betty.

The published photo was from Coondella fire trail in Dampier SF. We also photographed it on the Princes Higway north of Eden in Ben Boyd NP. That could be near your Eden record. It was in October 1996 before we had a GPS, only a map and easting/southing

So you also had two very different things that keyed to the same species. It sounds like your southern one would have been very near my Eden record. Did you run them past the RBG at the time?

No I didn't. I will scan the Eden photo and add it to the ALCW record.
