Author's notes

Identification confirmed by Sydney RBG from a specimen. Growing in the river bed in silt/cobbles. This is the most westerly occurrence of this species I have seen. Its habitat includes coastal freshwater lagoon margins, headlands and river and creek beds. The much brighter flower colour and sharp demarcation between white and purple distinguishes it from V. hederacea, along with the habitat.
