I'm suggesting this species, which is frequently found towards the end of the 'season'. Usually there are distinctive tiny white flecks visible around the outer edge of the cap (pileus). If you noticed, or remember any other specimens that had these it will just add that extra bit of certainty to the ID. The (cap) pileus surface is often glutinous when wet. The gills (lamellae) become mottled purple-brown as the spores mature. It is a decomposer (saprotrophic) fungus so it's cycling nutrients back into the soil for plants to use.
I do hope that is a hose and not some unusual reptile in the background!!?
