Patrick Campbell ... I wonder if you can help me. This lovely skink has got itself in to our house and seems unable to find a way out again. Do you know of any good way to trap it so that we can get it outside again? I should hate for it to remain forever trapped until it dies ...

Yes, I can definitely help, as we happen to have this species regularly come into our house and we've found a few ways to encourage them to go back outside. There's no need to trap it. I'll send you some lizard friendly ways to get it outside again, as I'm very familiar with this species.

Thank you, that is great. HOWEVER ... we finally got it out this morning when it chose to go into the hall cupboard which is near the front door. With judicious barricading and careful removal of boxes we were finally able to give it an escape route. Not doubt it will be back, so do let me have those lizard friendly ways anyway!
