Hairy fungi on Beecroft Head walk by path. Thought they might be Panis fasciatus, but my book may be out of date as not listed.

Yes, you are correct with your identification. It's just that with all the molecular work they are doing the names are becoming a bit of a moving feast!! Hence the new name Lentinus fasciatus which is as you so correctly note belongs in the Basidiomycota. Good image and id.
