Don't think that this is anything very dramatic but I've posted it so that you don't think I've forgotten you! Also, it looked rather sweet on a fallen log that was burned and then flooded, down on the river bank.
Yes they are a delightful little 'pored' fungus with those distinctive 'coffin' shaped pores. I feel they tend to herald the return of the fungi for the early, spring, season. they seem to be very resiliant.
Yes, I realize I have posted these before but they are rather cute. Shall I take them off again? Heaps of 'split-gill' about as you would expect after the fires and a few orange toadstools here and there.
If they were recorded at a different time or location leave them on. This helps with distribution and the times of the year these are sending up their reproductive structures.
