Author's notes
Male. Fairy wrens are particularly active and noisy at present, probably the dominant noise around our house - a distinctive trilling going on and the males have changed to their deep jewel-like azure colouring in the last couple of weeks. Often choose to nest in unlit bonfire piles but also in scrubby bushes, around bracken and in the forest.
