At 9 am was bright yellow but 5 hours latter off white - Dog Vomit Fungus

Yes you are correct with your identification. The common name of Dog Vomit Fungus is used more regualarly than the one I note that has been put up with this species. As this slime mould matures it will change from bright yellow to this pale colour and if you break it open when mature you will see the dark mass of mature spores.
